This is latest evolution of the Central Island Studio Tour – now in its 6th incarnation since May of 2015. Transitioning to a year round cultural tourism attraction, the Arts Guide features the tour as a barrier-free opportunity for visitors.

More than 100 studios of the 150 participating artists and businesses in the 2018 guide are open on May 26 and May 27 (10am-6pm). Many are open year-round, too, and available to visit by appointment just about anytime.

There is no fee to visit the studios, and many will have surprise treats to share on Studio Tour weekend, as well as great in-studio pricing for their work.

Artists will be in attendance at each studio, to share their work and their process with you, answer your questions… and happily sell you their wares! Many studios feature multiple artists, too!

Visit active, professional artisans in their natural environments, find new and beautiful works of art for your home, garden, office or personal adornment, share the beauty of the region by carpooling with friends.

No need to call head on Studio Tour dates. Map out your route and go for it! Carpooling is encouraged! Pack a picnic or stop at any of the great restaurants or food trucks along the way.

We recommend taking time to explore the artists in more detail on our website – CentralIslandTour.com – and save your faves so you can plan your tour route. But by all means, wing it! Many artists accept credit cards, but bring some cash just in case, for those small impulse buys you just can’t resist.

To discover all the artists, get a copy of the Central Island Arts Guide! Pick up a copy of the print guide starting April 1 throughout Vancouver Island, BC Ferries and beyond.

All studios highlighted in green are OPEN FOR THE TOUR – May 26 & 27, 2018 – 10am-6pm each day.

The Central Island Arts Guide is a new year-round reference of creative producers from Parksville to Campbell River. It includes short descriptions and photos, including full contact details, simple maps and an interactive Ondago® mobile map app!

The guide includes both well-known and emerging creators of many genres – from classic realism and abstract acrylics to upcycled metal & glass sculpture. You’ll find master crafters, jewelery-makers, wood sculptors, oil & acrylic land and seascapers, fused and kiln-fired glass makers, furniture craftsmen, potters and ceramicists, photographers & photo-collagers, weavers, abstract & modern painters, pyrographers, traditional and contemporary stained glass designers, even a florist, a lamp maker and a figurine sculptor!
