Spend a magical day – or a weekend getaway – touring the remarkable properties of this idyllic island, and find out why this Tour has been deemed “one of Canada’s top horticultural events” by national media.
Visit architecturally stunning homes, gardens by the sea, fairy-tale cottages brimming with perennials, traditional farmsteads, artists’ lairs surrounded by masses of colourful blooms, and permaculture projects that combine style with sustainability. The owners are on hand to share tricks and tips and talk about and the ins and outs of life on a small Gulf island.
This year the Tour features 12 diverse properties. You can be ambitious and aim to explore all of them, or take a leisurely approach, stopping to enjoy art’ studios, woodland walks, heart-lifting ocean views and all the rural charms of this tranquil Island. Recharge at the Community Hall, where local vendors will be offering sweet and savoury treats for your enjoyment.
Cyclists on the Tour can enter in a free draw at the ticket table at the Community Hall. Typically, the Tour’s many guests get around the island by car. Last year, as a way of supporting human-powered, emissions-free and health-enhancing transportation, we launched the cyclists’ draw: anyone cycling around the Tour can enter their name to win one of two gift baskets containing gift cards, yummy things to eat and drink, and beautiful hand-made objects.
